Yogi
Mrs Todd Reviewed on 29th June, 2010

Yogi was advised by my vet to have hydrotherapy after injuring his cruciate ligament. Yogi has the swimming ability of the average house brick but Doug with his calm and confident manner soon had Yogi pulling towards the door for the start of his session. Dougs enthusiam and knowledge certainly were instrumental in Yogi's improvement and we went from the possibility of having to operate on Yogi to him completing a 10 mile sponsered walk with ease after treatment both in the pool and the dog walker. I would recommend Doug and his staff without hesitation.

Joss at Buddy's
Mrs wyllie Reviewed on 16th May, 2010

Our 12 year old border collie,Joss has been suffering from arthritis in his spine and hips for several years. This has resulted in stiffness and general weakness in his back legs. He started going to Buddy's in February and we very quickly saw big improvements in his mobility and strength. Joss was initially quite nervous but Doug did a great job reassuring him and he now cant wait to get in the pool! The pools and surrounding area are always immaculate and Doug is always very careful about monitoring him, allowing him to rest when necessary but also challenging him to increase his muscle tone, range of movement and strength. Several people have commented on the fact that he has a new 'spring in his step'

Jake's Progress
Mrs Smith Reviewed on 15th March, 2010

Jake came to us as a puppy through Retriever Rescue and a few weeks later showed signs of hip dysplasia. After his operation we successfully used hydrotherapy to aid his recovery. At the age of nearly 12 he is now suffering with arthritis and weak back legs which were continually giving way over Christmas. Such a painful scene to witness. We were delighted to learn about Buddy's Hydro and were not disappointed. Doug cares deeply about each of his dogs and using his knowledge and excellent equipment he certainly helped to ease Jake through a difficult time. Many thanks Doug.

Basil Labrador
Mr sweeting Reviewed on 3rd March, 2010

Basil is an eight year old golden labrador who was suffering with some mild arthritis in the joints of his back legs. He was struggling and groaning when getting up from his bed and his mobility was less than it should have been for a dog of his age. He has been having "fun swims" since early January 2010 and the progressive treatment by Doug has seen Basil's fitness levels greatly improved. He loves his swimming, and is more like a puppy again now he has the mobility and fitness to match his enthusiasm for anything he thinks might be fun.

Doug has a wonderful manner with the dogs (kind and caring), and this bond will help even the most timid of dogs to trust him in the pool. We are delighted with the results of Basil's swimming, especially as we entered into it as a fun thing for our boy to do.

I would not hesitate to recommend Buddy's Hydro to any dog owner, and I'm sure Doug's enthusiasm will see both him and his customers achieve great results.

Buddys Hydro
Mrs clarke Reviewed on 21st February, 2010

Our boy Monty a labrador rescue dog had a dreadful start in life, and was severely undernourished and has also had joint problems due to this, he has been visiting Doug at Buddy's since december 09, and Doug has helped build his strength up and build up muscle to help support his joints, Monty loves every visit considering he was such a nervous boy, Doug has a wonderful way with all the animals and cares very much about all his dogs. Henry our other lab also goes along for his fun swim which is brilliant to watch. Thankyou Doug

Alfies treatment
Mr stanhope Reviewed on 21st February, 2010

Our ten year old cairn cross had medial patellar luxation(mpl) this is where the kneecap slips out of place, and causes the the dog to go lame. The vet recommended hydrotherapy to give him some pain relief as he has also developed arthritis in his knee. This is where we contacted Douglas, who is such a caring man, when Alfie is in the warm hrdrotherapy bath, you can actually see him smiling as the pain ebbs away. After the hydrotherapy he gets a swim, he was not to sure at first but soon got to enjoy it.Anyhow he has now had his operation and is doing well. I will be taking him back soon for more treatment from Douglas as soon as the vet gives me the go ahead.

Buttons amazing transformation
Mrs Adams Reviewed on 18th February, 2010

Button was born with deformed front legs and was unable to walk properly. He walked on his elbows with his paws facing upwards. After taking him to the vet, I was told there was little hope of Button living a full and active life and it would be better to have him put to sleep. I decided to give him a chance at life and looked into hyrotherapy. I found "Buddys" and took him along in Dec. I have to say the results have been truly amazing. Button can now walk on his paws and his mobility is fantastic. He really enjoys his swimming, and Douglas has been brilliant with him, giving him confidence and reasurance in the water. We are looking forward to his 1st birthday in Aug, with a happy and active puppy, enjoying life.

Results already
Mrs Adams Reviewed on 16th February, 2010

I have been taking my dog Puzzle to Buddy's Hydro twice a week since December09.
She has lumber sacral disc degeneration and minor disc protrusion on her neck. After lots of physio she seemed a lot better but needed Hydro to build up the muscles around her weak area but in a safe way, therefore being able to support herself in a much stronger way in the future.
So I found Douglas - I was very impressed with the way he dealt with the whole thing from contacting my vet to confirm the sort of exercises she should have to having a written program all ready for her first treatment.
She starts in the water treadmill, then the pool and finally finishes in the jacuzzi.(lucky her)
I started to see improvment from about the 2nd week and still see improvment, she is like a different dog much closer to how she used to be before the accident.
I intend to continue to go to Buddy's for a long time as its the best thing that has happened to her.
I can't recommend highly enough the service and dedication that Douglas provides and it comes over very strongly that he really cares about the dogs that visit him and is truly dedicated to getting them better.
I would like to add that I take my other dog Danny for a fun swim but the service I receive is just as professional from start to finish as the treatment I get for Puzzle.
