I’m a dedicated lifestyle pet photographer offering you a down to earth service that is a breeze to deal with from start to finish. Using only natural sunlight to capture your pets unique personality that only you normally get the joy of experiencing.

Being a lifestyle, pet photographer means that you pets are the main focus of the photo session, people do appear in photos, but only to aid to the beauty of the connection pet and owner share. I do not cover weddings or kids parties (unless doggie!) - I am pets and pets only.The Lifestyle photography that I offer means that I will not capture your furry in a studio but outside or your home where they're going to feel most happy and natural - just as you know and love them!

A little about me...

I'm Leanne
I had grown up with a house absolutely full of animals - think reptiles, birds, dogs, insects, rodents - you name it! Because of this up-bringing I learnt from a very early age to love, respect and adore animals. Since I was young I've had a huge love and attachment to dogs, above anything else - they are still my #1 love. The reason I ever picked up a camera and started to get interested in photography and consequently starting ShortDog was a few years back, it haunted me that there were only a very select few snapshots of our past pets. This really saddened me as it made it very hard to remember them for what they were and what they brought to my life, I really despise the fact there isn't much if any pictorial evidence to remember them by.

So; armed with my very first Digital point and shoot camera a few years back I would walk around and take a picture of anything our cats/birds were, or even were not doing. In addition to this I really wanted to document my time I was spending at the local rescue centre, so purely for my own fun I started taking photos of the dogs needing homes there. The rest, they say, is history.

Over the years I ended up spending more and more time behind the camera, bringing out the essence of our own and other people's pets that sometimes only they get to enjoy as there really is nothing in the world, to me, more amazing than the unconditional love and adoration dogs (I would say cats, too, but we all know they're rather, well, bossy!) give to you - they put their utter trust in to you 100%, they are members of the family, a best friend that is never going to betray you; and so to me it only seems natural to want to document the short time on earth we have the pleasure of living with them. And there really is no better way to do this than through photos that will reach out to you and remind you of the exact qualities and moments of their lives that you love, and have loved the most.
