![]() | “Jemma and Joe” Mr Beath Reviewed on 27th July, 2011Jemma is 15, very deaf, partially sighted and has suffered three strokes. Joe is 5; since his arrival 18 months ago he has transformed Jemma's quality of life. He has malformed front paws and looks like a car with collapsed front suspension but he is the eternal optimist and loves everybody, especially our postman. He is devoted to Jemma and has become pretty much her eyes and ears out in the garden and undergrowth. Richard has perfectly captured Jemma's lopsided look (from the strokes), her fading eyes and her growing reliance on Joe; and in contrast the confident, friendly and trusting gaze that is Joe's hallmark. For years to come our dachshund orientated family will enjoy the memories of two devoted little dogs evoked by Richard's sensitively executed portrayal. |
![]() | “Pet Portaits” Mrs Ceaton Reviewed on 14th July, 2011I am in awe of my Uncle's ability to paint animal portraits. I have seen many paintings he has created for customers and I can honestly say the characters come right out at you. He recently completed a portrait of my brother's English Bull Terrier and the attention to detail is remarkable - you can see every single hair! My husband and I have a 4 month old Italian Spinone - we are waiting until he is a bit more mature so that we can commission Richard to paint him - we know the result will be fantastic! If you are looking for an excellent artist to paint your pet, you will be hard pushed to find a better talent than him (not forgetting he's a really nice chap aswell!) Tracey and Tony Ceaton |
![]() | “Pet Portraits” Mr LANGRIDGE Reviewed on 13th July, 2011Richard has painted 2 oils for us of our dogs and both are treasured paintings which will be with us always. He is my uncle and does the best portraits I have seen! Thanks, Mark and Wendi |
![]() | “Monty & Charlie” Mr Godfrey Reviewed on 11th July, 2011Richard has captured two of our dogs to canvas, Monty & Charlie and on both occasions did a fantastic job. Monty & Charlie sadly are now no longer with us but we are constantly reminded of both them when we look at Richards portraits which both hang in our dining room. Richard has also painted my son's labrador and a number of other portraits for people known to us. We are currently waiting for our Jack (Golden Retriever) to also be captured to canvas in the very near future. Both Linda my partner and myself thoroughly reccommend Richard for all your pet portraits. David Godfrey |
![]() | “Deva's Portrait” Mrs Davis-Penson Reviewed on 11th July, 2011Richard painted the portrait of Deva, our wire haired Jack Russell from some photos we supplied. He has absolutely captured her to perfection, her expression (she was focused on some bees on the lavender bush at the time!), the way the hair on her nose sits up in a mohican but somehow, he's managed to portray her attitude as well. This is the 3rd portrait Richard has done for us, the 1st being a picture of 3 golden retrievers, each distinctly different. Then he painted our lovely old black labrador, and again, the portrait is so accurate you almost expect to hear them bark! We cannot recommend Richard's work highly enough, he really gets to know your pet and uses his undoubted skill to translate their souls and characters into paint. Sadly, we've now lost our black lab, but the portrait we have is a huge comfort and we truly feel she's still with us. Thank you Richard. |
